In the fourth quarter of 2018 were sold 375,4m smartphones around the world.
It is less by 4,9% against the same time a year before.
Overall, sales of smartphones in the world have declined for the fifth quarter in a row,
according to research by International Data Corporation.
The five most popular smartphone manufacturers account for 69% of shipments.
For comparison, a year earlier, this figure was 63%.

Part of its models uses MediaTek processors.

Market share: 16.1%
Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. - one of the world's largest telecommunications companies.
Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Huawei Technologies Meng Wanzhou,
daughter of the company's founder Zhen Zhenfei was arrested
at the beginning of December 2018 in Vancouver (Canada).  
The arrest was made at the request of the United States.
American officials suspect she of violating trade sanctions against Iran.

Sales: 68.4 million  
Market share: 18.2%
Apple is an American corporation that manufactures personal and tablet computers,
audio players, smartphones, software.
One of the pioneers in the segment of personal computers and modern
multi-tasking operating systems with a graphical interface.
Samsung
Sales: 70.4 million  
Market share: 18.7%
Samsung Group - South Korean group of companies, one of the largest chaebols
(chaebol is a large industrial conglomerate that is run and controlled by an owner or family in South Korea),
founded in 1938.
On the world market, it is known as a manufacturer of high-tech components,
including full-cycle production of integrated circuits, telecommunications equipment,
home appliances, audio, and video devices.
