April's most profitable investment
The growth leader among the shares were Qualcomm securities. In April, the quotes of the microchip manufacturer added 51%. The growth was mainly due to the end of Qualcomm's two-year trial with Apple. After the news of the reconciliation spread, the company's shares went up by 38% in two days.
The second place in the rating was taken by the papers of the telecommunications company Frontier Communications, which rose in April by 43.2%. Shares of Frontier were the leaders of last year’s fall, losing 64.8% over the year. In addition, they fell in the first quarter of 2019 by 16.4%.
Frontier is experiencing serious problems, both financial and operational. The company has been losing customers over the past year. Short-term growth in February 2019 occurred after the release of reports, the results of which delighted investors only by the fact that things were not as bad as analysts predicted.
On the third line of the rating are Walt Disney shares. Shares of the film company for the month went up by 23.4%. The growth of quotations is associated not only with the successful distribution of the latest series of the Avengers film franchise, but primarily with the analysts' expectations of financial returns from the acquisition of Twenty-First Century Fox.
Some companies from the April rating multiples show that their shares are already quite expensive and may continue to fall in price. Perhaps it is time to start selling them.
These include Qualcomm, Walt Disney, JPMorgan Chase, Align and BlackRock. The values of the P/E and EV/EBITDA multipliers for these companies have increased over the month and are now higher than the values of the similar competitor multipliers. It turned out that such actions are only in a foreign rating.
