In 2018, a data transfer project was launched to create an open-source inter-service data portability platform so that all users on the Internet could quickly transfer their data between online service providers at any time. The project was launched and introduced by Google on July 20, 2018, and partnered with Facebook, Microsoft, and Twitter. Broadcom to become Apple supplier

The American manufacturer of integrated circuits for communication devices Broadcom announced a two-year contract with Apple. The company will supply the manufacturer of the iPhone certain radio frequency (RF) components and modules for smartphones, tablets and smartwatches. In a statement to the Securities Commission (SEC), Broadcom noted that it would maintain and allocate sufficient production capacity and other resources to produce the products provided for in the contract. Shares Broadcom immediately after the announcement of a two-year contract with Apple soared by almost 6%. But then the growth of the papers faded away. Apple has fired near 200 employees from Project Titan

Dismissals from Project Titan was expected due to current restructuring and change of management, according to the CNBC statement. Doug Field which had left the Apple for becoming chief engineer in Tesla came back. Apple said that some groups of staff will switch to other company`s departments where they will work on machine learning technologies and other research. “We have an incredibly talented team working on autonomous systems and associated technologies at Apple. Cook`s desperate move: has Apple started to cut iPhone prices?

Low demand for new iPhones had triggered desperate moves by Tim Cook, the company has decided to decrease its smartphones` prices for the first time in many years. The stock market had reacted strongly to the letter from Tim Cook to Apple investors which triggered the biggest one-day falling prices for company's shares during the last five years. As a result, Apple capitalization has decreased to $674,7 bn, stock prices have fallen to 142,19 per one at 8:30 am London time on January 4. It is worth mentioning that Apple lost it’s a top rank at the end of the last year and gave way to Amazon and Microsoft.
