Xiaomi has beaten Apple in the segment of wearable devices

Chinese Xiaomi became a leader in the segment of wearable devices in the third quarter of 2018, according to the IDC research. GMOTrading notes that when we are talking about wearable devices, we mean smart watches, fitness trackers, action cameras and Bluetooth headsets.

Xiaomi has loaded 6,9 m devices and taken 21,5% of the wearable market, so the company has doubled its performance against to third quarter of 2017. The main reason is the success of a fitness trackers Mi Band 3 and an increase in sales outside of China especially in India, Europe, and the Middle East.

Apple which was the leader of deliveries has ranked second place. American company loaded approximately 4,2 m Apple Watch, it is more by 54% than a year before and took 13,1% of the market in the third quarter of 2018.

The third place is taken by Fitbit which delivered 3,5 m wearable devices. The company took 10,9% in the third quarter of the current year against to 13,7% in the third quarter of 2017. Even though only Fitbit has shown a decrease from the top 5 in the wearable market, the company was able to become the second largest smartwatch vendor.
