American social network Pinterest is planning an IPO in 2019, according to the close of The Wall Street Journal source. As a result, the platform could get capitalization amount to 12 $bn. These assessments will have changed by the time the company puts a price for IPO.
As said by the interlocutor of the journal, Pinterest was conducting with banks regarding a line of credit in the amount of $500m. But GMOTrading noted that it was a typical decision before an IPO.
If Pinterest launches the IPO in early 2019, the social network will be in the companies list which is planning to become public for the first time in the first half of the next year, like Uber or Lyft.
"Social media is about sharing what you are doing with other people," Evan Sharp, Pinterest's co-founder and chief product officer said in an interview with Daily Mail earlier this year.
“Pinterest isn't about sharing. It's mostly about yourself, your dreams, your ideas for what you want for your future,” added he.
Pinterest was founded in 2008. People using the social network can find, share and save different pictures. The platform had raised 250 m active users per month in September.
The social network looks forward to getting $700 m income, such sum is bigger than previous in last year by 50%.
