Trump urged not to pay for Brexit

US President Donald Trump called on the British authorities not to pay compensation to Brussels in the amount of 39 billion pounds (about 50 billion dollars) for failure to fulfill obligations to the EU in connection with leaving the Union.

"If I were them, then I would not pay 50 billion dollars. So I would. I would not pay, this is a huge amount," - said the American leader in an interview to The Sunday Times.
He confirmed that he proposed that the British Prime Minister Teresa May sue the EU in order to have more leverage on Brussels. According to him, the UK will be "very difficult to achieve a good deal when they enter into negotiations in this way." Trump suggested that London follow the path of exit from the EU without an agreement if the community authorities refuse to provide the British side with what it seeks.
Also, the US president promised to exert maximum efforts to conclude a free trade deal with the UK within a few months after Brexit.
After a series of trade conflicts with a number of countries, Trump’s statements are frivolous. In any case, the new trade agreement with Britain after Brexit will help maintain the pound at a level of 1.1-1.2 against the dollar.

Recall that a number of experts are suggesting that if Britain leaves the EU without an agreement, then the pound may collapse against the dollar to parity of 1 to 1. So far, the British currency has steadily lost its position.
