Google will launch a self-driving cab service next month
Google subsidiary Waymo is a company which works on self-driving technology is ready to launch their remotely piloted taxi service in December 2018.
The developer has already tested its cars in 25 American cities and is planning to monetize their inventions. And maybe it is a start of huge changes in the taxi segment, GMOTrading will tell you more in this material about our self-driving future.
We still don`t know the name of the new cab service, price per one taxi ride and the exact date of launching. Waymo doesn`t take any information about its plans, but according to Bloomberg`s statement, the company isn`t going to release a self-driving cab service for the masses, it will launch only the ride-hailing application. Firstly, developers want to launch the Early Rider Program near Phoenix where they have been testing their cars since last year.
“Waymo has been working on self-driving technology for nearly a decade, with safety at the core of everything we do,” said anonymous Bloomberg`s source.
As we know, participants of test groups in Phoenix don’t have any non-disclosure agreements. So, they will be able to invite friends or journalists along for rides. Part of volunteers will continue to use Waymo`s self-driving autos, they will test new functions and give feedback to developers.
It is noteworthy that, some of the unmanned cabs will be with drivers which can explain how to use novelty and take control of the car if necessary.
